IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Electricity is certainly one of the most widely used raw materials in industrial plants today for carrying out production activities.
Considering the recent events related to the energy crisis, one of the key objectives for Filmar is to achieve energy efficiency, with the consequent reduction of the company's environmental impact.
Over the past few years, numerous projects have been developed and applied in favour of energy sustainability.
Filmar operates on three levels:
- Increase in the supply of energy produced from renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic panels, which will increase by 300kw during 2023.
- Reduction of energy use through the use and dissemination of monitoring systems for a rational use of energy
- Increase the efficiency of its processes, through the disposal of “energy-intensive” equipment such as old generation electric motors and lighting systems that use traditional technologies, in favor of more performing and low-consumption technologies, such as LED lights that in recent years they have been installed both in the offices and in the production departments.
In particular, in recent months, two E-power systems have been installed at the Filmar production site to improve power quality and reduce energy losses. Thanks to the implementation of the e-power system, in fact, it is possible to reduce losses and interference in the plant, bringing real energy efficiency, while reducing electricity consumption for the same amount of work performed, which results in an estimated economic saving of 4%.
