Cottonforlife program has been renewed
Cottonforlife is an articulated program, promoted by the Filmar Spa group, implemented by Filmar Nile Textile in coordination with UNIDO and with the participation of ALEXBANK of the Intesa San Paolo Group.
With focus on the planet, people and shared prosperity, the project aims to promote an environmentally friendly and socially responsible textile and cotton supply chain while helping to promote sustainable fashion.
Presented at the Milan EXPO in 2015, the initiative was highly appreciated by local and international stakeholders, attracting the attention of institutions such as the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) over the years.
One of the major achievements during the first project phase was the launch in Egypt of the Better Cotton program (June 2020) to improve the impact on the environment, farming communities and economies of cotton-growing areas.
The Cottonforlife initiative is now in its second phase, launched in 2021 through the signing of a new agreement between Filmar, Egypt's Ministry of Education and Alexbank.
In addition, Cottonforlife is getting closer to consumers by promoting products that meet global challenges and market demands through new marketing and communication proposals.
