“So young So old” The NABA Fashion Show 2019

The transition to sustainable development requires the new generations of fashion designers to look at different aspects of economic, social and environmental reality with an integrated approach. For this reason, fashion and design schools and academies around the world are providing their students with useful tools to address the systemic challenges of sustainable development and promote the adoption of concrete solutions.

The students from the three-year course in NABA's Fashion Design attended the workshop "The future time of fashion" where they developed a sustainable collection under the guidance of Tiziano Guardini, Creative Director and founder of the fashion brand Tiziano Guardini, coordinated by Colomba Leddi, Course Leader and by Simone Liscio, Fashion Design Academic Assistant. The special project was launched during an open dialogue on the theme of sustainability held in November at NABA which was attended by Francesca Romana Rinaldi, Director of New Sustainable Fashion MFI, Tiziano Guardini, Creative Director and winner of Franca Sozzani Award for Best Emerging Designer during the Green Carpet Award in 2017, Marina Spadafora, Ethical Fashion Consultant and Fashion Revolution Italy Coordinator, Maria Giovanna Sandrini, Brand and Communication Manager from Aquafil, also during the project important companies of the sector have been actively involved.

The workshop allowed some NABA students of the last year of the three-year BA in Fashion Design to face the symbiotic and creative relationship between sustainability and fashion and finally develop original products that start from the concept of circular fashion. 10 outfits that express 4 topics today more than ever faced by the sector: reuse, regeneration, use of sustainable material and innovation.

Filmar wanted to support the initiative by donating some swatches for the creation of two beautiful garments that marched during the "So young So old" event The NABA Fashion Show 2019 which was held on Tuesday 18th June in Milan at NABA, New Academy di Fine Arts.
